you know, i've been thinking about that scene with lisa. obviously i don't like it, not only because i ship casdean, but mostly because it just really doesn't make any sense at all, but i think i've actually figured out a way to be alright with it.
maybe the show knows we'd never accept the whole lisa/dean thing, and maybe it's just more of a symbol - dean living a normal life, keeping his promise to sam. i don't think it'll last. not only because sam popped up out of nowhere at the end of the episode, but also because of dean.
dean's not happy. not at all. well, obviously, since his brother's stuck in hell with the devil, but you know. still. even chuck said that all dean wanted to do was die, or find a way to bring sam back. he doesn't want a normal life, he wants to die. but he made a promise. he wasn't relieved to see lisa. glad, maybe, because he's always glad when someone he knows is still alive and well. but dean didn't go back to lisa, per say - rather, he kept his promise to sam. and that's what this episode was about, dean finally trusting sam wholly and fully, and keeping his promise is a part of that. i'm glad dean's got lisa there for him, that he's got ben. i'm glad he has someone, and i don't think it necessarily means there'll be romance involved. maybe they'll understand that dean's far too broken to be in any sort of relationship right now.
so yes, i think lisa and ben can do dean a world of good, but no, it's not a permanent solution. of course it isn't. it isn't anything that'll last. it can't last, because it's not in dean to just give up. not on sam. not on hunting, saving people. and dean's just ... not happy where he is. he's doing what he promised sam he'd do, and that's fine, but not what dean wants. and lol, to be honest, what kind of sixth season would it be if it was about the happy life of dean and lisa? a pretty sucky one, i'd say. :D
so yeah. i'm pretty much alright with it now, if i think about it like that and as long as it doesn't actually become a romance. because then it'd suck ass.
also, CHUCK/CASTIEL FANFIC OH GOD I HADN'T EVEN THOUGHT OF THAT. SO AWKWARD.
