These words brings up so much to mind. For instance the attention surrounding the books by Stephenie Meyer, rather it be good or negative.

I’ll be perfectly honest. I had never even heard of Twilight, until the movie was about to come out in theaters.

I was talking to my friend about the massive attention surrounding the movie in class one time. I sort of mentioned I had never read the books.

She looked at me in surprise and said in an accusing tone, “You’ve never read Twilight.” She offered her books for me to read, but I didn’t really take her up on the offer, because I had no interest in it whatsoever.

Then the movie came out and I still paid very little attention to it. I continued to ignore the hype surrounding it for quite a while.

Until one day, I’m walking around in Wal-Mart and I’m completely surrounded by Twilight merchandise. You name it, it was there: t-shirts, the books, the newly released DVD of Twilight, purses, posters, etc.

I was actually a little frightened by the sea of beady eyes looking at me that unknown to me at the time belonged to “Edward Cullen.”

Anyway, curiosity got the best of me. Since I was lazy at the time, I bought the movie instead of the book.

I actually didn't think the movie was that bad, except for a couple of things that really got on my nerves.

The first thing that confused me, when I started watching the movie was how Bella and Edward got together.

Correct me, if I’m wrong.

Edward craves Bella’s blood. In the movie, he clearly says he wants to kill her. He had never wanted anyone’s blood so badly. Am I right so far?

How exactly does that equal love?

There was no progression toward love. It was just ‘Oh, I’m in love with you because you’re so perfect or because I want your blood.’

Then the whole watching her sleep and following her around thing. Talk about creepy.

If he was so in love with her, why didn’t he just tell her? Instead he treated her like crap and stalked her, which I didn’t understand.

The part that really got me was when Edward Cullen glitters. I think I sat there for a while thinking. ‘Since when did vampires sparkle, their supposed to explode into flames, not glitter?’

I kind of got upset at that, talking as a horror movie fan and knowing about vampire lore.

If you’re going to change around vampire legends, at least make it good changes.

It makes the “vampire” look like a wuss.

After I watched the movie, I started reading a bunch of fanfiction about it, which weren't all  that bad. Okay, some of them were pretty bad.
I even wrote a few fanfics myself, just based off the movie and the fanfics I read.

I actually find it funny that I was able to get the characters, having not read a single book.

I decided to read the second book New Moon. It was on sale at Target, so I said 'What the hell?'

Well, I read a couple chapters and I wasn't impressed.
I just can't get through it.

Then, having heard the arguments about the books being anti-feminism and the apparent abusive relatioship between Edward and Bella, I grew curious.

I found two communities, i_hate_ twilight and twilight sucks. I joined them (even though I really don't hate Twilight), after reading various posts that had me laughing on the floor.

I ended up reading the first book being sporked by amyrat151.

The writing was horrible; the movie was an improvement. I have to give Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson for doing a better job at acting out the characters; they were less annoying in the movie.

I certainly see what people are talking about, now.

Most of the story is about how good-lookig Edward is. It was like every couple of sentences was saying how perfect and beautiful he was.

As an aspiring novelist, I always thought that you describe the character in the beginning and be done with it. Only mentioning a few things in passing, "As the wind grew stronger,  her brown her whipped around her head" or something like that.

You don't talk about it on every page. Smeyer is a horrible writer. How did she even published?

Then the relationship between Edward and Bella is so unhealthy. There are so many clues to it being an abusive relationship; I'm surprised people don't talk about it more.

He follows her around.
He sneaks into her room, while she's sleeping. Someting she doesn't even know about at the time.
He's very controlling.
He acts like she can't do anything on her own.
It's all very disturbing.

I just thought I should say something on the subject, since I'm part of two Anti-Twilight communities.

Although, I have to admit; there are parts of Twilight I like.

The concept interests me; I think it was an intriguing idea. The vampire falling in love with the normal human girl. He lives with his vampire family who are trying to live as normal as they possibly can. Then the love triangle between the werewolf who's pack are the enemies of the vampires.
It's a really good idea, but the execution is not good.
I really think this idea could have been a great story in someone else's hands.
That's just my opinion.

I'm not a complete Twitard or a hater of Twilight. I guess I'm in the middle.

The only other thing that I'm a fan of is the character Jacob (or I just love Taylor Lautner).

And I know Smeyer ruined his character in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
That's another thing that pisses me off. Meyer made the character Jacob force himself on Bella twice. Not cool, Smeyer.
Then, he imprints on her daughter (who shouldn't even really exist; vampires can't get anyone pregnant, Duh). That's just wrong on so many levels.
First of all, he's going to be watching her, as she grows up. Gross. What the hell is he supposed to do this whole time? Is he going to be like an uncle or something? So, when she becomes of age and they get into a relationship, is she still going to call him Uncle Jacob? AWKWARD.

Then they say she'll be eighteen in seven years. Okay, but won't she still have the mentality of a seven year old. Just saying. She'd still only have been on the earth for seven years, so technically she's still a child in her mind. That is just really weird and makes no sense.

Okay, I'm done ranting about her destruction of the character Jacob.

Anyway, I'm definitely Team Jacob (before Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) or Team Edward/Jacob.
Yes, I am a shipper of Jacob/Edward. XD

I do plan on going to see the movie New Moon, just out of curiosity.
I just wanted to give my two cents, since I had never posted anything about it.
