The Mentalist vs Psych

queen125I just saw the season four premiere of Psych. I've been watching that show ever since it came on, so I am a big fan of it.
It's one of my favorite shows on televison. When it first premiered I thought it was original, action(y), hilarious. It was just a great show all around.
So, I'm flipping shows one day, it lands on The Mentalist. I decide to watch it. OH MY GOD.
It is a complete rip-off of Psych. I mean really it is so freaking obvious. Are you kidding me?
Could CBS not come up with an original idea, instead of stealing it?
Then they have the nerve to call it one of the hottest new shows.
HELLO, it's taking its ideas from Psych.
I almost had a fit, when I heard it was nominated for an Emmy.
Why has Psych never been nominated for an Emmy. It is great show. Why has no one noticed this travesty?
It's definitely not fair.
The only differences between Psych and The Mentalist is:
Mentalist has Simon Baker (who is extremely sexy, I'lll give them that), on CBS, is a bit more polished, but it's an eerily similar premise.
Psych has witty humor, well-written, Gus and Shawn are great characters, great action, and great stories.
Psych is way better show. Just because it's not as fancy-looking as Mentalist, does not make it the lesser show.
It should be the show nominated for an Emmy, not Mentalist.
I wonder, if they can sue. If they can, they should.
But this is not the first time, channels have stolen people's ideas for a show.
I remember one show was on another channel was Trading Spouses, and the other was Wife Swap. Why can't people just come up with original ideas?
